Movie Survey

#1 Has filming helped you learn more about history?
Definitely!

#2 Has filming increased your interest about social studies?

Yeah.

#3 What is the most beneficial part of filming?
I learned so much more than just taking notes, because if you are going to make a movie about something, you will need to research it to every last detail, so you will most likely learn a lot about your subject.

#4 What is the most difficult task about filming?
Probably getting everyone to focus. I know I am very controlling, but there is someone in my group that just would do nothing but fool around the whole time when we were trying to be serious.

#5 If there was one thing you would change what would it be and why?
Its really nothing about the videos, just about the class. I would probably change how everyone 30 days to complete the editting. I know not everyone has iMovie, but no one actually took it home the way I did. I mean, since 99% of PCs have Windows Movie Maker, I'm pretty sure someone could have it in each group...

#6 Was blogging helpful?explain

I really don't know. It might have been, but I honestly didn't notice a real difference, other than if I had a question about something I could ask it over the weekend and have an answer. It was a good review of the week, though.

#7 How much effort have you put in this class compared to others? Choose one>

more

#8 What is your overall grade in class?
A.

#9 Has using the computer and programs become easier after filming?
I've actually learned a lot about iMovie. I didn't use the stuff I knew in the videos, but messing around I found out a lot of cool features.

#10 Did you enjoy working in groups? explain

Yeah. I was in a group with pretty cool people, we had fun! We could be serious and creative at the same time, and I've made some new friends. haha.

#11 Additional comments about the class and film making.
I would like to say that I believe that it was awesome idea to use videos to remake history. Not only did it make it more interesting, but I find myself excited for the new chapters to see what ideas might spark.

Its pretty amazing, actually lol. When I got home after I learned what my subject was, I did a quick internet search (don't let this sentence fool you, I do not have internet, lucas hates me, and no one will answer my questions.) and found out everything I needed to know. After that, I wrote the rap in about 20 minutes. I felt pretty proud of myself afterwards, and then took it into school. Recording it was the funnest thing in the world. We had so much fun haha. To shoot it we basically acted out whatever was in the rap, and had a big dance party for the end.

I really enjoyed making this video, but I don't know if I like it more than a normal video. The easiest part of filming is probably when we have dance parties, while the hardest is most likely getting everyone to cooperate, and get Cooper to be serious in serious moments... seriously impossible to do. He was the leader, he did fine ;D

I don't know who the best leader was, because I basically led the whole time. I don't know, they trusted me, and according to my personality I like to be appreciated... and they wanted me to take control, so I sacrificed myself to fit others needs. I was just affirming my importance, and it helped me be not so self conscious. :(

The writing assignment did help a lot, actually. It gave me more of a reason to go look stuff up online than before. I don't really think that it helped more than the filming, though. Writing an assignment about one person would teach you their views only, while making a movie still puts you into character but you learn about everything as a whole, if that makes sense. lol. Plus I enjoy film making so much more. This isn't really a question from the war, but it's a question from real life... about the war. Why is it "casual" to know that the war was The British vs French with Indians, where the British faced the odds and suprislingly took them down, but the British had more Indian allies than the French? Where the French tribes larger in numbers or something? We chose the genre, and I am glad we got the subject that we did ;)

This is usually where I add a little "off topic of blog" note where I make a joke or something. But not this time! I'm switchin it up!

A blog on thanksgiving break?! Goodness Miss G why do you have to give us so much work?! It's unbearable! lol. After reading the article, I found that the French and Indian War was interesting as a whole. So we are writing a paper about the daily lives of a certain person? I am reminded of last year when you turned me into a priest boy for a couple days, haha. I choose the 600 words on a blog, because I believe in myself, and I can do it! My plans are to get with my family and eat and everything. I guess back in the 1700s they had a lot of delicious foods compared to now, so I'm going to compare them and say that we both ate! :)

Have a very amazing thanksgiving break, Miss G! ;D

I was interested in the Great Awakening the most. I don't know, it just got me interested. The New Lights changed up their traditions for more people and power? I know it really advanced Christianity, but I don't know, that just seems weird.

Well I think that Poon, Erica, Drew, and Kelsey's group had an amazing video. Very creative idea, and it really enhanced the lecture. Of course, Hatton's went great with your lecture, because he gave you some time to talk while the video was playing! haha. Nothing really had me remembering anything that was on the test. I could say Justin doing that staple crop thing, but I got that question wrong on the test :'(

What do you mean how do I feel about that idea?! It WAS my idea. ;D

In that picture you got me in motion or something, goodness! Oh well. We'll remake it. lol.

Have an amazing thanksgiving break!

It really hasnt become easier to us, but we dont fool around as much as we used to. We don't have many problems. I think they have made the lecture become interesting, lol. We only have one more film left? :( I would like to see Cooper as a leader, he hasnt become one yet. We might try and do something different, like a music video or something. Probably not, but it's an idea.

Our new video is not as good as the 2nd video. You might say that I always say this, but... it's a little choppy at the begining and it is more based around facts than anything (which I guess you would like. lol)

It was... a test? Idk, I don't really have an opinion on it. It was a nice test, I guess. lol. We are doing the middle passage, because we just blurted something out. I wish we did Women Rights, that would be amaaazziinnnggg :'(. If people would agree with me on the film, we would be doing the same exact thing we did now. We don't really come up with different plots, they just have me set up the plot, then they branch out with their ideas about everything that we can put in there. It's pretty intense.

I appreciate you taking the time for reading this amazing blog.

Hi Miss G!
How's it going? I haven't talked to you in awhile.

Maine was founded in 1623.The living condition wasnt good at all! No one had very good farming skills and everything, just like the other 9001 colonies. I probably could live as a puritan or a pilgrim, but I can't now because I've been spoiled with this futuristic life of mine. But IF I was born in those times, you betcha! lol. I'm excited about filming, you know it. I dont have my book with me, I'm sorry. I can't glance through those pages. Sorrryy!

I would give the lecture a 10/10 by far. It is unexplainable how amazing it was. Yeah, I need to stop talking so much. I'm sorry, I'm really, really, trying to stop. But when I think of something words just burst out of my mouth... and I need break it lol. I would be apart of Ponce de Leon's group, just so I could tell him that I'm from the future and that he needs to focus on important things other than unbelievable myths. Hmm... that gives me a great idea. Remind me to talk to Lucas about it on Monday. Fortunately, I didn't have a group change and I'm very happy.

I would probably give my video a 6. I think it's average, I was expecting it to be soo much better, Miss G :(.
I thought that it really helped out with the lecture, except for the videos that you couldn't quite understand what was going on.

Also, I would have to take Hatton's group's subject. They had the BEST section of the chapter for making a video, and they didn't use it...

I can't answer the last question because I just looked up every single thing that we went over on the internet for more information, so there are no more details left to cover... sorry :(

Haha, the one thing I would look up would be about the Aztecs and Incas, and how they were being very kind and sweet, while the conquistadors thought they were being all lame. :(

lol.

At first it was sort of difficult to think of something, but once someone gave one idea (Rat Race) ideas just came flying out. Tram and Cooper are both starting to be open and thinking of cool ideas, so there's that. lol. The person who I work best with is definitely the Coopmeister. Cooptember is getting pretty good with the camrea and everytime I tell him an idea he knows how to run with it.

I don't know who the new leader is, but he sure is amazingly talented. Great personallity, great ideas, very good leader, and to top it all off, he's amazingly handsome!

My role in this film is basically the same as everyone's. We are all different explorers, me being Juan Rodriguez. For me it seems really rushed, so it's hard to get good quality work... but I'm fine with it. I wouldn't really change anything, but I would make it.. better. Usually we will shoot something and use it even if it isn't done correctly. Like someone will mess up and we will just keep going after we do the takes. Of course, we would probably do the same even if we had the time... sometimes I wish I could put those guys on a payroll :(

Lol.

Bonus Blog.

I would just like to say that making videos has made American History much more interesting. I already like history, but I just don't like American History as much as World History... and I love filming. So since I'm going to stop myself from posting a very long post, I would like to say that I believe that it was awesome idea to use videos to remake history. Not only did it make it more interesting, but I find myself excited for the new chapters to see what ideas might spark.

I have no cluee what lecture you are talking about. Lol. I guess the one thing I remember is that... you... are the one... that spoke to the class? Uhhh... :)

I am very excited for making films, and you know it! I ran ideas through my head for the video while you were giving notes. lol. Ideas that will also help me remember who did what! I'm just going to type another sentence so it seems like it's a little longer, because without this sentence... the blog looked really really shorrtt! :(

The one person I would pick would be hattonio. Him and I may not be as big of bff's as you and I, but we are pretty big best friends. haha. He is a wiz at making videos, and we both love doing it. We share the same interests, and we already share a lot of ideas together. Of course, we would probably argue about who's ideas we should use and etc, but we would still cooperate. Just friendly fights. lol.

Video planning is going great! Actually, I don't know why... but we are going really really slow with this first video. Hopefully we will be able to get the ball rolling and have pretty amazing videos while shooting them pretty fast. I like my group members. At first they didn't want to work with me, but I know I was a little too demanding, lol. But I was only demanding because they decided they'd rebel against me and NOT DO WHAT I TOLD THEM TO D:<>

The meaning of my group name? Its funny you should say that, lol. Before I looked at the prompt, I google'd it because I wanted to know for myself! It would be the battle of camden, which was during the revolutionary war. Major win for the british, blah blah....

I've had one difficulty with the equipment you have provided us...

Blog 1

This is my first blog on this site and I'm a bit nervous so please bear with me here. Haha.

So far this class is pretty good. I'm a person that loves world history and doesn't really like US history at all... so its pretty hard for me to stay interested, but this class is pretty fun. It's probably because we are still talking about indians, which is basically world history.

I really don't know what I want to learn about american history. Something interesting will do. It seems like everytime I learn american history I am stuck memorizing amendments and writing down presidents. Hopefully it's not like that.

The biggest obstacle will probaby be memorizing.
